Ag Commissioner Charles Bronson and a Classified Ad
Today, I will be attending a luncheon to hear FL Agriculture Commissioner Charles Bronson speaking on various topics. I want to hear what's on his mind and try to ask a couple questions related to the failure of the Citrus Canker eradication program. I have some thoughts about this particular FL cabinet position and you can expect a posting from me in the coming days related to the potential of a challenge for this seat.
Now to shift gears a little -
Every blog goes through a growth and restructuring phase. I had planned running this blog a month, taking stock and making changes. I have been posting a month and I am pleased with my progress. Over the holiday weekend I noticed hardly anyone posting. I also noticed readership taking a ginormous drop. I feel good knowing most of you are spending your weekends and vacations actually doing something. Unless something big political is happening you can expect me to do the same. Well, when I start paying the bills with this blog then I will start posting on holiday's.
So, from what I gather most of you are coming to read my strategy and analysis (see this, and this and this, and also here and here, and finally here), not my updates. It makes sense that you are interested in the thing I do the best and love the most. And with that in mind, expect more posting on political strategy and commentary about political strategy posted on other sites (Florida Politics and Derek Newton this means you). Since I can attribute much of my growth this month to discussions with South of Suwannee (see here and here) then I will take the opportunities to discuss various topics with him as well.
However, a couple of my potential contributors have accpeted new jobs (Congratulations!) and that is hampering my efforts to expand my content. So, this is my classified ad -
PEER Review is looking for young, excellent writers who stay abreast of FL, NC, southern or national events and policy related to Politics, Education, Entertainment, Religion (and Science). If you have conservative opinions and want to get published then send me an email.
Let me say this up front - I don't pay, but I do publish. My experience with writers is that being published is kind of like eating, they have to do it because it's what they do. If this sounds like you, then drop me a line, or submit an original piece.
My readership is growing and I want to continue that trend. PEER Review has regular visitors from all over Florida, some in NC and a few in DC plus the St. Pete Times, Miami Herald, Jacksonville Trib and a few additional smaller papers. No promises and no guarantees, but opportunities definitely exist.
Thank you to all the people who have helped me get to this point. I hope we can take it much further and I look forward to the journey.
